Markets and marketing strategy projects
Dr Robert Leek has over 25 years experience in senior management positions within British Steel and Corus. He has a PhD in metallurgy and after working in research held various roles in commercial management within the strip products division. For ten years he led a department in South Wales which covered: strategic marketing, market research, appraisal, pricing, communication and development of full product range. He had budgetary responsibility for market communications covering brand development and new product development activities.
When British Steel merged with Hoogovens, Bob led a team integrating the supply chain for the newly formed company. He has specialist knowledge of selling steel to end-users in the automotive industry.
Since leaving full time work, Bob has worked on a number of consulting assignments with Corus Consulting in the area of markets and sales. These have included the assessment of the sales organisations at Pakistan Steel and the Vietnam Steel Corporation, the preparation of a business plan and market forecasts in Vietnam and a regional market study in the Middle East.
